Start at the extinct Trou aux Cerfs volcanic crater with a 360o view over the island. At ‘Voiliers de l’Ocean’, see a display of stunning models of historical sailing ships. Continue to the sacred lake of Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao) followed by a stop at the viewpoint over the Black River Gorges, home to most of the island’s endemic flora and fauna. Lunch is at the authentic village of Chamarel, where you will also visit the world-class La Rhumerie de Chamarel and taste some of the finest rum in the world. Admire the 90m-high Chamarel Waterfall and the iconic Seven-Coloured Earth.
